Malabrigo Quickies- Sokol by Melanie Berg

This Quickie is so charming- somehow both tough and refined at the same time! Introducing Sokol by Melanie Berg:

Sokol in Merino Worsted, in Chapel Stone.

Melanie says:

Sokol is the Russian word for “hawk“, and knowing this, it’s not difficult to imagine where this name comes from. Falconers need to protect their arms and hands, so they need long mitts, padded with an extra layer of fabric.
Sokol mitts are knit in the round from the bottom up. The main part of the mitts is worked in plain stockinette, with just a few rounds of ribbing along the edges, making this project perfect for adventurous beginners. The buckles are added at the end and the tip of each buckle is attached with a button.
With their steampunk look they’re a great addition for your fall and winter wardrobe.

Definitely getting the steampunk vibe…but also, just think of all the cool button combinations you could use! Love ’em love ’em love ’em.

What are Malabrigo Quickies?

Quickies are small, fast projects which require only one or two skeins of yarn. Approximately every two weeks we’re teaming up with a talented independent designer to present an exciting new accessory (or other “small object”) pattern, showcasing one of our many yarns and colorways.
