It may be winter down in Uruguay (though weather.com tells me it’s awfully mild at the moment!) but for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is well underway! A fine time for this beachy collection from Muriela:
I am very fortunate to live beside the sea, in the Basque Country in the south west of France. The bright blue of the sea and its waves, which are sometimes less calm than they first appear, inspired me to design this collection around that theme.
A unisex slouch hat, Aloe, is blue like the sea in the magnificent Rios Bobby Blue: knit seamlessly in the round and modeled by my son, Clément.
Aia is a simple shawl with alternating garter stitch and stockinette bands and a wave pattern border: the version in Silky Merino is modeled by Saioa, that in Rios by Manon.
You will also find this wave pattern in the short sleeved pullover, Uhaina, as modeled by Manon, designed to be worn next to the skin in oh so soft Silky Merino with delicate lace detail on the sleeves and sides.
On my daughter Anuhea’s sweater top (Nerea) a different, yet still easy to knit, wave pattern and the tones in Arroyo creating a unique result every time.
Oh to be knitting on a French beach right now! You can see the full Blue Waves collection on Ravelry here, or click the individual photos to go straight to the pattern pages. You can also browse our past MFPP’s here!
What on earth is “MFPP”?
MFPP stands for Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project. Every month, we collaborate with an independent designer (or two) to bring you delightfully themed pattern collections! You can see past MFPP collections here or at the Ravelry link above!
