I think it’s about time for some crochet around here, don’t you? And we couldn’t ask for a lovelier example than Abbey Swanson’s Wyoming Collection. Suddenly I’m feeling that old pull to move westward stirring in my veins again…
Abbey has a beautiful essay about Wyoming, her new home state, in the ebook, but I’ll just pull a small piece of it here:
I lived in Minnesota my entire childhood, and the rhythms and idiosyncrasies of that cold-weather state run through my blood. So when I moved to Wyoming as an adult, I didn’t anticipate the deep sense of belonging that would develop here.
The spirit of the West lives on in any soul who loves freedom and adventure… exactly the feeling I have when riding a horse (there’s a reason my husband proposed to me on a horseback ride). It seems we were born to live in a place where we can make our own path through wide open spaces. I’ve designed this crochet book to honor my new home state, celebrate its unique beauty, and highlight some of the aspects I love most about it.
