Annie says:

Attack from Outer Space! The ebook has all your space necessities: rayguns, rockets, space helmets, and alien robots! This four pattern set is an homage to the sci-fi movies of the 50s and 60s. Drawing from classics spanning from The Day the Earth Stood Still to Barbarella, there’s a little something for every sci-fi fan here.

Rayguns are comfortable three-fingered gloves with the image of the rayguns on both sides. Metal Man Mittens have a unique construction with the gusset and thumb worked last. The Ignition legwarmers are worked bottom up with slight shaping and a generous top cuff. Noble Hero is a snug but comfortable balaclava with a fun cushy collar.

MFPP: Autumn Nostalgia by Stephannie Tallent

Cover image is Applejack Cowl, in Worsted (Applewood)

Mmm, fall is just about here at last (well, in the Northern Hemisphere anyway.) To many, autumn is a time to pick up your needles again after a hot sticky summer and start cranking out woolies for the cold days ahead. Why not get a jump start with this cozy autumn-inspired collection?

I’m thrilled to be part of the Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project. When I found out that my month was September, and the theme Autumn & Back to School, I was even happier.

Autumn is my favorite season. I especially love it in parts of the world where you really get to indulge in that change of seasons — with red and gold leaves, bright blue skies, that crispness of the air and the softer edge of light. (My four years at West Point, in the Hudson River Valley, firmly cemented that!)

This collection, using a range of yarns, includes a variety of techniques: stranding (the Tailgate Mitts), reversible texture stitches (Farewell Summer Cardi & Hat), and lacy cables (Applejack Cowl). I hope you enjoy these patterns, inspired by the nostalgia of autumn.

Ooh, they just make me want to bundle up and drink hot cider and eat donuts! (I am told that’s a uniquely midwestern/northeastern autumn tradition, but I highly recommend it.)
