Flax Sweater Tutorial
Have you ever wanted to knit a sweater but felt a little overwhelmed at the prospect of tackling that much knitting by yourself? In normal circumstances, heading to your Local Yarn Shop and signing up for a class, or asking for help from one of their knowledgeable staff members is usually a wonderful option for learning new techniques or for getting your knitting questions answered. Unfortunately, in the midst of the current pandemic situation, that’s not a helpful option for most people and is not widely available at this time. So, what are you going to do with all this extra knitting time but you still want to try some new things?
Well, thanks to iKnits, you have access to a free video tutorial that walks you through the entire process of knitting TinCanKnits Flax sweater!
We were happy to provide Christine some Rios in Frank Ochre for this tutorial and she has done an amazing job of breaking down the process of making this very popular sweater.
Her blog post detailing where you can find all the necessary elements to knit this sweater (to include making a gauge swatch as well as winding your yarn to get started!) can be found here: http://www.theiknits.com/2020/09/the-flax-sweater-video-tutoral-knit.html
The iKnits youtube channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/iKNITS
If you need to download the pattern Flax, from TinCanKnits, you can find the FREE pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flax
Be sure to check out Christine’s IG at https://www.instagram.com/theiknits/ to see all the lovely images of her sweater.
This is truly a wonderful tutorial and really helps to break down the overwhelm of tacking your first (or even possibly your fiftieth!) sweater. It makes for gentle hand-holding during what can seem a daunting knitting task and it’s simply magical to watch your own project come to life while following along with the videos.
Definitely share your sweaters if you use this tutorial to make one, we cannot wait to see them! What color of Rios will you choose for your Flax sweater?
