We’re excited to announce a special new Knit-Along featuring Malabrigo Sock, introduced alongside our latest color story: the Aura Collection.
Spring is officially on its way… and so is our next Knit-Along!
We couldn’t be more excited to invite you to pick up your needles, choose your favorite hues, and join us for the Orienta Shawl KAL, featuring the stunning Orienta pattern by Cory Boberg.
KAL starts on April 3rd.
Our KAL will feature the beautiful Orienta Shawl — a design full of movement, texture, and color play.
Originally written for Mechita by Cory Boberg, this time we’re reimagining it in Malabrigo Sock to highlight its drape, stitch definition, and — especially — the depth of our newest hues from the Aura Collection.
Orienta combines graceful shaping with engaging stitchwork, making it ideal for knitters who love seeing texture and color interact on their needles.
You’ll need:
• 2 skeins of Sock for your Main Color
• 1 skein of Sock for your Contrast Color
Because this design truly shines with contrast, we encourage you to explore bold, high-impact pairings from the Aura Collection. Strong contrast will make the stitch patterns sing — while softer, tonal combinations create a more subtle, atmospheric effect.
There’s no wrong choice — only your version. This is your planning phase. Swatch. Play. Dream up your version.

Pattern help
Our team will be answering questions about the pattern and help you work through the tricky parts.
We have set up a Ravelry thread, Facebook group and will held weekly zoom meetings with Jill from @knitsisu to assist you.

Prizes
We’ll be giving away weekly prizes, randomly drawn from our list of registered participants.
How to Participate: To be eligible, simply complete the registration form above and share a photo of your project on social media using the hashtag #MalabrigoKAL. Please note: To qualify for prizes, your project must use the featured Malabrigo yarn for this KAL.
How winners are selected: Winners are chosen at random using a randomizing app from among the registered users. After that, our team verifies that all requirements have been met by checking the social media handles provided during sign-up. If a selected winner doesn’t meet the criteria, a new winner will be drawn until all spots are filled.
