February Quickies Pattern: Make it Snappy by Pam Grushkin

Hopefully it's warmer and a lot brighter wherever you are today. The skies are gray, the ground is still covered with snow and it's quite cold out there outside my office, so when Pam Grushkin let me know that she just released her February Quickies pattern, it definitely brightened my day!

This hat is so bright, and looks absolutely cozy and warm. It's also knit in Rasta (and in one of my favorites, Zarzamora), which means if I take a very quick break from working on my book (shhhh, don't tell on me!), I'll have a new warm hat to keep me warm when I have to run to the bus stop to get my kiddos later this afternoon.

Pam says the following about her new design,

Malabrigo Yarns has consistenly created beautiful and unique hand-dyed yarns; they have long been a favorite of mine. Their colorways capitvate me, which was the true inspiration behind this pattern. While designing this hat, I wanted use pattern stitches that popped the colors featured in the yarn. The broken rib pattern in the brim pops the variations in the dyeing and truly brings the colors to life.

'Make It Snappy' is a quick and easy knit, suitable for a range of skill levels from an advanced beginner to a seasoned knitter. This is a one skein wonder using Malabrigo Rasta; a wonderfully soft, super bulky yarn available in wide variety of unique, hand-dyed colorways.

The hat is sized to fit as follows: child (teen/small adult, large adult with head circumference of 19-21 (21-23, 22-24)”/48.3-53.3 (53.3-58.4, 58.4-61)cm.

If you like instant gratification in your knits, this is it! You’ll enjoy the whole process from choosing the color (or colors) that capture your heart, the softness of the yarn as you knit, and how quickly you’ll have a finished hat to gift or wear.
