Lovely Pair by Susana Lobos desiGns

We teamed up with the talented designer Susana Lobos desiGns to create a free "one skein project" that would look fabulous in a plain color and is also perfect for showcasing a variegated or speckled yarn. This shawl works up in a breeze and it might be a great opportunity to use that special skein you may have in your stash!

In most countries, Mother's Day is celebrated tomorrow and this is the perfect time to share the result of this collaboration. We hope you like it as much as we do.

Lovely pair is an easy to knit, triangular asymmetric shawl and requires only one skein of fingering weight yarn (Mechita or Sock). The sample is worked using Sock in Fortaleza.

We talked with Susana about the inspiration behind the design and the name and this is what she told us:

On multiple occasions, We use or hear the sentence "What a lovely pair". Perhaps you think in early love birds, but from my perspective, we can use that sentence in different situations. It could be that the perfect pair is in your own family or it could be the pair you do with your younger sibling. We could be the best team of laughter and adventures.
In other occasions, is that furry, unconditional and crazy friend that keeps you company while you're studying or working from home during the pandemic. A lot of times is that person you haven't seen months ago, but you only need a call to catch up, sharing success and failures, with the same enthusiasm as the last time you talked. That infinite friendship that the map divides but keeps being as alive and nutritive as usual.
From times to times, the perfect pair can be that friendship between two people whose destiny was different but they keep giving and growing that friendship, without leaving aside the love.
Definitely, a perfect pair can be found in yourself, when your creativity and passion crash together in a new project or a new adventure.”
