December Quickies Pattern: After the Rain by Elizabeth Felgate

Between the snow that started falling last night and the days to get gift-knitting finished dwindling, I'm looking for all the quick, warm, knit patterns that I can, anybody else? Thankfully, Elizabeth Felgate just released a hat pattern, After the Rain, that looks like it will be both a quick and warm knit, perfect to keep everyone warm. (The pattern is genrously sized from a 4 year old to an Adult Large).

This hat takes two skeins of Dos Tierras in highly contrasting colors. The sample uses Camelon and Plomo.

Elizabeth, the designer, says the following about her piece:

After the rain, the world is washed clean. Even in the muddy depths of a wet winter, pebbles shine with newly revealed colour, evergreen leaves gleam, and the clouds break to show the sky. This is a hat for hope and new beginnings.

Refresh your knitting mojo with some new skills too. Double knitting in DK yarn provides a warm double-layer hat, whilst one simple pattern row creates some texture and allows a multicoloured reverse side yarn to peek through like little jewels emerging from their ore.

I bet if you cast this one on this evening, you'll have a new hat before the end of the week! Happy knitting!
