Malabrigo Quickies: Shawlaholics Volume 3
It’s hard to believe that it’s time to kick off the 2026 Quickies patterns! I always look forward to these monthly specials and getting to learn more about the designers and inspiration behind these projects. I am always inspired by these projects, and they remind me that no matter how busy I get, it is possible to complete a project and that it is beneficial to take even just a few moments in my day to spend crafting.
Designer Kavitha Raman kicks off our Quickies lineup with an incredible collection which also initiates a shift in our focus for this year’s Quickies offerings. This year we are shaking things up and will be offering tiny collections of designs from various designers that are connected by a particular theme or concept. I’m looking forward to watching these mini collections this year and I cannot wait to explore the different yarn choices we’ll be visiting over this coming year.
Shawlaholics Volume 3 features Malabrigo Mora and provides two unique kerchief patterns designed by Kavitha Rama.
Reshma Kerchief is a nod to the classic square kerchief. Knit in Mora in Teal Feather colorway colorway , it features a simple garter stitch body that is framed by a twisted rib border. Kavitha notes that the “kerchief begins at one corner with just a few cast-on stitches”.
Increases are worked along both edges, first establishing the decorative border, then continuing to expand the garter stitch body. Once the desired width is reached, shaping is reversed by decreasing along both sides to return to the opposite corner, completing the square.”
Soie Kerchief is knit in 2 skeins of Mora in the Lettuce colorway. This pattern features an elegant diamond lace body framed by a garter stich border.
