New Yarn: Meet Brisa, Our Merino, Cupro & Silk Blend
There’s something about a breeze: you feel it before you see it.
Meet Brisa, our newest yarn. It’s a Sport/DK blend of merino, cupro, and silk. Brisa means “breeze” in Spanish, and the yarn moves like one: light, with a soft drape and a gentle shine.
What is Brisa yarn?
Brisa is a three-ply yarn made of 60% Merino Wool, 30% Cupro, and 10% Silk.
Cupro is a plant-based fiber made from cotton linter, the soft, silky fibers left over after cotton is processed. If you haven't worked with cupro before, think of it as a fiber that helps fabric fall smoothly and catch the light.
Merino gives Brisa its soft hand, while cupro and silk bring lightness, a subtle sheen, and beautiful drape. The result is a fabric that feels delicate without feeling insubstantial, with enough movement to flow beautifully as you wear it.
The Brisa colors
Brisa launches with 22 Malabrigo colorways, bringing familiar favorites to a completely new base.
What can you make with Brisa?
Brisa is made for lightweight layers you can reach for all season long. Its soft feel and fluid drape make it especially lovely for sweaters, cardigans, flowing tops, shawls, scarves, and delicate accessories.
For fall, think lightweight sweaters and cardigans that layer beautifully without feeling heavy, or a shawl or scarf with just the right amount of drape.
Its three-ply construction gives stitches definition, while the merino, cupro, and silk blend creates a fabric that feels soft, light, and fluid.
